English Plus Activities for Global Competence

Take your English Beyond the Classroom

This course for young learners combines General English lessons, activities, and Global Competence sessions to support students to gain essential skills for the future whilst also having fun in English.

In the mornings, students will cover all four General English skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening whilst taking part in intercultural activities and projects. Students will begin to develop their sense of awareness as ‘global citizens’ through sessions aimed at expanding their worldview. Lessons will be tailored to the age and language level of participants, and will encourage students to begin comparing different cultures and expressing their own views on topics related to the world around them.

In the afternoons, students will put their new skills into practice and participate in a range of cultural, sport and leisure activities with their classmates. Examples include bowling, laser tag, visits to the Cathedral and Castle Museum, cinema trips, escape rooms, and much more.
