Adele Pennington - Head of Teacher Training
Adele is the Director of Studies at NSC. She has a Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA), is a CELTA tutor and is an English language proficiency examiner. She has worked in the British Council in both Singapore and Nepal where she was responsible for designing and delivering Teacher Training courses to both public and private sector school teachers. She also designed and delivered tailor-made Corporate Professional Development training courses for Government Ministries, NGOs, INGOs and private businesses.
Jill Gambier - CLIL Lead Teacher
Jill started her teaching career in London where she gained
experience of teaching at all
levels, eventually specialising in teaching Cambridge examination classes. On moving to Norwich, Jill taught IELTS and was certified as an IELTS examiner. In 2007, Jill
became the Joint Secondary Lead Advisory Teacher for EAL with Norfolk English Language Support Service. Jill’s role was to advise and support schools in developing their provision for pupils with
English as an additional language. This involved teacher training and developing both language and education programmes for young people from refugee and asylum seeking communities.
Theo Best - Teacher Trainer
Theo completed a BSc in Psychology at Goldsmiths College, a Masters in Philosophy at King’s College London, and, most recently, a Masters in Creative Writing (Poetry) at UEA. As well as being an English teacher and teacher trainer, Theo is also Poet in Residence at The Corporate Theatre, where he seeks a better understanding of how creative images determine structures and behaviour in organisations. He uses his experience and drama skills to help teachers stimulate student motivation.
Roni Snell - Teacher Trainer
Roni has worked as an English language teacher in adult education for over 15 years in Hong Kong and New Zealand. She has also taught English to refugees and asylum seekers in London. Roni has designed and taught training courses for Norwich Union Insurance and English courses for Nurses. She is particularly interested in assessment and evaluation of student progress and in teacher education & continued professional development. She is currently studying for a MA in Applied Linguistics.
Jane Richards - Teacher Trainer
Jane began teaching in 1981 and has taught English to over 50 nationalities in Greece, Japan, Spain and France as well as in the UK. She has taught General, Exam, Business and Academic English and has been an examiner for Cambridge and City and Guilds exam boards. She has long been interested in language awareness and the teaching of communicative grammar and she is a keen proponent of student-centred language learning. She currently teaches Exam Preparation and General English at NSC, focusing on courses preparing students for IELTS.
