General English
GENERAL English courses run all year. These classes follow a course book and build essential vocabulary and grammar. They also provide practice in the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking English.
The maximum class size is 12 students, occasionally 13-14.
Regular evaluations: tutorials, progress tests, progress reports.
Students are given an end of course evaluation, report and certificate.
There are three full-time General English courses:
- General English Standard Course (15 hours)
- General English Intensive Course (21 hours)
- General English + Academic Preparation Course (21 hours)
General English Intensive
This course follows a similar structure to the morning classes but with more emphasis on topics and skills work, in particular, conversation.
General English + Academic Preparation
This course is suitable for students who are preparing to go to university in an English speaking country. The course provides practice in all four skill areas alongside an introduction to academic language and vocabulary.
On the first morning students have an induction to the school including a placement test and a short interview with the Director of Studies to assess their current level of English and see where they need to improve.
1:1 tuition for special purposes can also be arranged.
General English courses are designed to give students a good foundation for whatever the long term learning aims may be.
