General English
GENERAL English courses run all year. These classes follow a course book and build essential vocabulary and grammar.
They also provide practice in the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking
English.
The maximum class size is 12.
The average class size is 6 - 8.
Regular evaluations: tutorials, progress tests, progress reports.
Students are given an end of course evaluation, report and certificate.
There are two full-time General English courses, a 15 hour STANDARD course and a 21 hour INTENSIVE course.
Afternoon classes provide further practice of language skills. They do not follow a course book, and can include exam preparation for PET, FCE, CAE, CPE, or Trinity Spoken exams.
1:1 tuition for special purposes can also be arranged.
On the first morning students are introduced to the school. You will
take a placement test and have a short interview with a member of our Academic team.
The test and interview are used to assess the current level of English and see where improvement
is needed. Generally at 11:30 on the first day students can join a class.
General English courses are designed to give students a good
foundation for whatever the long term learning aims may be.
